The Partnerships Coordinator is a creative, organized, flexible entry-level staffer supporting our Strategic Partnership and Partner Engagement programs. 

 

Responsibilities

 

With guidance from the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Partnerships Coordinator will:

Outreach & Relationship Management

  • Support outreach to public coalition groups by drafting communications, managing follow-ups, and maintaining regular contact as needed.

  • Serve as primary manager for the Strategic Partnerships Fellow, offering guidance and oversight.

  • Manage assigned partner relationships to ensure consistent engagement and support.

Storytelling & Reporting

  • Collaborate with team leads to communicate the department’s impact to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Compile and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to support funder reports, campaign updates, and partner outreach.

  • Write weekly highlights and activity reports; contribute to regular stakeholder briefings and help shape the department's strategic narrative.

  • Monitor, manage, and update the department’s reporting database.

 

Performance Monitoring & Strategic Analysis

  • Track and analyze department metrics in coordination with the Strategic Partnerships Director and Partner Engagement Director.

  • Recommend data-informed best practices and adjustments to improve performance and engagement strategies.

 

Technical & Administrative Support

  • Provide technical assistance to department staff, including onboarding new team members to systems and tools.

  • Manage database user accounts and maintain email listservs to support smooth communication.

  • Support directors in maintaining accurate records of team budgets, contracts, grants, and MOUs.

  • Assist with processing new and renewed MOUs with partner groups.

Program Development & Field Coordination

  • Collaborate on the development and planning of field activities and tactical guidance for campaigns.

  • Facilitate the distribution of campaign materials from CAC to partner organizations.

  • Support the development of grants and contracts with partner groups, ensuring clear deliverables and accountability.

  • Project manage cross-team initiatives, coordinating interdepartmental resources and timelines.

Operations & Logistics

  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, travel, and special events.
  • Manage scheduling, set agendas, and take notes for key meetings.

  • Maintain organized file systems to support departmental efficiency.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as required or assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

 

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of similar work experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically as a team player and to develop trusting relationships with a wide  variety of people, personalities and organizations

  • Flexible, innovative, and self-motivated to complete work independently

  • High level of professionalism with demonstrated experience working with external partners and the ability to maintain discretion

  • Ability to successfully juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-expectation campaign environment with minimal supervision

  • Strong people and communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot-check for errors

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, basic Excel skills, and database maintenance

  • Familiarity with Asana and Zapier a plus

  • Familiarity with the environmental movement is preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Predominantly operates in an office environment. Must be able to remain stationary a majority of the time. Must be able to use standard office equipment including computers and keyboards. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

 

The Fine Print

This is a full-time, Non-Exempt position based in Washington, D.C. CAC staff work in a hybrid set-up with minimal in-office work (1-2 days a week). The salary for this position is $58,000-63,000 and is commensurate with experience.
